I have been a purchaser of Icebreaker and Smartwool in the past and wanted to add a merino balaclava, both brands were pricey, so an internet search turned up Justin Charles. The JC expedition weight balaclava screams quality. The knit is very tight, and although not worn in the cold yet, I see that it will block the wind too. Fits my big head great and my wife's smaller head fine. Easily folds up to a watchman cap. This is my first JC purchase, but will not be my last. The softness of the wool is much better than Ice or Smart, there is no way I would have said it was even merino wool. I had to check the package to make sure it said 100% merino wool, it is. My wife (who also was amazed at the wool, she owns many Smart and Ice too) now knows where to shop for me for Christmas, a JC expedition top or hoodie is at the top of my list. Thanks.Frank D

Excellent product as it fits well and is exceptionally warm. I use it when snowblowing my long entry road. Haven't washed it yet to see how it holds up but I would expect it to do just fine. The model I bought was extra heavy and now I will order the light one to fit under my motorcycle helmet.Gene

Wow, this is a terrific product. This merino wool is so warm, yet not itchy. It has kept me warm at well below freezing temperatures. The underwear is great too, by the way.K. Myers

WOW - when they say merino wool traps heat, they aren't kidding. This hat is great. I would highly recommend it to all my friends whether they are out snowmobiling, sledding, hunting or just taking a stroll in the nasty winter weather we are having this year. Thanks for such a great product.
